This Calsonic Impul Team Racing jacket is a great retro timepiece and looks fantastic! This jacket is a thick, nylon-polyester winter bomber jacket.
Calsonic is a name synonymous with Japanese motorsport. The company, originally known as Nihon Radiator, was founded in 1938 and quickly became a leading manufacturer of heat exchangers and radiators.
In the 1970s, Nihon Radiator began sponsoring race cars, and by the 1980s, the company's blue and white Calsonic livery was one of the most recognizable in Japanese racing. Calsonic's most successful partnership was with Nissan. The two companies teamed up in the 1980s to dominate the Japanese Touring Car Championship (JTCC) and the All Japan Sports Prototype Championship (JSPC).
Calsonic-sponsored Nissan cars won numerous races and championships in these series, and the company's sponsorship helped to make Nissan one of the most successful Japanese automakers in motorsport. In addition to its success in Japan, Calsonic has also sponsored race cars in Europe and North America. The company's sponsorship of Nissan's Le Mans prototypes was particularly successful, with Calsonic-sponsored cars winning the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1991 and 1992.
