Yuya Taniguchi was a Japanese professional baseball outfielder for the Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters of Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB). He was drafted by the Fighters in the first round of the 2012 NPB draft.
Taniguchi broke out in 2013, hitting .284 with 12 home runs and 60 RBIs. He was named to the NPB All-Rookie Team. He improved in 2014, hitting .302 with 17 home runs and 74 RBIs. He was named to the NPB All-Star team for the first time.
