Tsuyoshi Nishioka is a Japanese professional baseball player who currently plays for the Tochigi Golden Braves of the Baseball Challenge League. He previously played for the Minnesota Twins of Major League Baseball (MLB) and the Hanshin Tigers of Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB).

Nishioka played for the Buffaloes from 2006 to 2010. He was a standout player for the team, and in 2010, he led the league in batting average with a .340 batting average. He was also named to the NPB All-Star team that year.

After the 2010 season, Nishioka signed a four-year, $9.5 million contract with the Minnesota Twins. He made his MLB debut in 2011, and he played in 100 games that season. He had a disappointing rookie season, batting .215 with 50 hits and 20 RBIs.

Nishioka returned to Japan in 2014, and he signed with the Hanshin Tigers. He played for the Tigers for six seasons, and he had a successful career with the team. He was a .280 career hitter with the Tigers, and he was named to the NPB All-Star team in 2016. After the 2019 season, Nishioka was released by the Tigers. He signed with the Tochigi Golden Braves of the Baseball Challenge League in 2020. He is still playing for the Golden Braves today.

The Hanshin Tigers are a professional baseball team based in Nishinomiya, Hyogo, Japan. They are a member of the Central League in Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB). The Tigers were founded in 1935 and play their home games at Koshien Stadium.

The Tigers have won five Japan Series championships (1954, 1955, 1962, 1965, and 2003) and 11 Central League pennants. They are one of the most popular teams in Japan, and their fans are known for being rowdy and passionate.

Several notable Japanese players from the Hanshin Tigers, such as Shintaro Fujinami, Kenji Johjima, Tsuyoshi Shinjo, Keichi Yabu, Kei Igawa, and Kyuji Fujikawa, have successfully transitioned to the Major League Baseball (MLB), leaving an indelible mark on both leagues.
