It is rare that "tuning" is as pervasive as Japan and the only other country in the United States. This unique feature features the "tuners" who have built up such a tuning world, which can be said to have sublimated into Japanese culture.
We asked 19 tuners who have been running tuning shops for over 30 years. Through a long interview, I will approach the person's image by digging deeply into why they became interested in cars and tuning from their background, the background to the establishment of the shop, and the main activities after that.
We also conducted a questionnaire entitled "100 Questions," including tuners other than those interviewed. The results are fascinating, so please read this as well.
